Tokyo Pop and Shock Cabaret 2 is epic -with 30 red-hot acts: 90+ artists, so massive, it will take up Jack’s and Kilroy’s, all for just one cover of $8.  Pick your story –Toyko Pop or Shock- freely move between bars, and interact with 16 great live bands of diverse musical genres!

And...Mega-Canadian musical guests:  rising reggae/rock/ska stars, Staylefish, signed to the VAN’s 2008 Warped Tour; Alpha Galates (formerly The Hollow), Nocturnal Divinity and The Kettle Black.

DETAILS:

*****Thanks to Tyler of Better Dayz Productions providing the addition of Alpha Galates, formerly the members of The Hollow as many will recall from War on The Shore and old Apollo days. The band is already making waves and out with a new CD release, Alpha Galates' debut single "Natio" can be seen mashed up to Halo 3. They are a hard rock/metal progressive outfit, consisting of five members based out of Toronto, with a sound comparable to older straight forward "Tool" material. Their debut album, A Stimulus For Reason comes out in February 2008. Prior to Thunder Bay they will be playing two of Toronto's rock n est bars The Horseshoe and The Bovine Sex Club and will be playing Edgefest summer 2008. Want to here and see more then you have to see Alpha Galates VS Halo 3-"Natio" on You Tube go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NhbC-hchAM    www.myspace.com/alphagalates

*****But wait, read on, there's more........... Nocturnal Divinity from Winnipeg, an Alternative Gothic Rock/Metal - female fronted band-with the hauntingly beautiful voice of Carly Iskierski, think something along the lines of Evanescence. Look for their national tour coming this summer 2008...see them here first!  Thanks to Shawn of Jordana Divinorum for helping us connect w/ Nocturnal Divinity!
******We are also fortunate to have...............The Kettle Black from Vancouver-Experimental Punk Folk musician, who is a marvel to behold, see him here prior to his North American Tour in the summer of 2008. >www.myspace.com/nickjohannes
*******Finally, last but definitely not least........Pop & Shock 2 just got even bigger with Staylefish. Staylefish is a 6 member ensemble, out of london Ontario, comprised of a diverse array of musicians from Reggae to Rock and Ska. Part of NXNE and will be on the 2008 Vans Warped Tour. The band has already established themselves with a large following in the Canadian music scene and now take it internationally with the launch of their new CD Audible Addiction-Lots of horns, keys, guitars, drums and multiple vocalists-Staylefish has a truly exciting and original sound you must see and hear. Thanks to Marie from Kilroy's for helping by setting us with Staylefish!]:  www.myspace.com/staylefish

Advice come early to catch great music + performances all night long!-It should be very BIG!  550 people were at the first Toyko Pop & Shock last March & 900 people were at DefSup's last Halloween Cabaret. Treat yourself to the wildest, slickest party ever!  Tokyo Pop and Shock 2, Saturday March 22nd at Jack's & Kilroy's, only $8/19+/ID required. Promoting on LU Radio

This revision has be awhile in coming but we’ve had some set-backs here at CILU which have kept us from being able to work out the finer details of the issues. Our past deal of simply putting our logo on show posters really did not work out very well. Promoters were supposed to actually bring the posters/handbills to the station so that we had proof they were done AND so we could help promote the shows when we were at other events. Unfortunately, there were many cases were shows were promoted by the station with no follow through from the other end. Although you may not believe it, it does cost us time and money to put together advertisements for show and make sure that they get on the air. As a result, LU Radio has decided to change the way we do show promotion.

As of now, if you wish to have an ad done for your show separate from the ‘What’s Up In Thunder Bay’ announcements it will cost. The price per ad will be $3 to a maximum of $25 dollars. I.E. if you want us to run 1 ad, 1 time, it would be $3. If you want us to run 1 ad 100 times, it would be $25 dollars. The logo on the poster condition still stands, however before we action the ad we require proof that at LEAST 30 posters were printed for the show. Ideally, this will be a receipt and some copies of the posters for us to take to events with us, however a copy of the receipt alone would be sufficient. Without proof of posters being printed, the cost of advertising the show goes up to $7.50 per ad, with no cap. Please note that this is ONLY available to shows being promoted by individuals. It does not apply to advertising for businesses, services, etc.

If you don’t want to pay, that’s perfectly fine. Ensure that your show is posted on www.baycore.net , or send an email to whatsupinthunderbay@gmail.com and we’ll get it on the ‘What’s Up In Thunder Bay’ rotation.

Thank you for your understanding. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me.

Disgraceland Proven Best Place in the World

After years of intense research, battles with environmentalists, and budget cuts, Scientists in Munich, Germany have officially proven that Disgraceland, a small house-turned-concert venue in north Thunder Bay, Ontario, is the best place ever in the world to be.

Disgraceland owner Micro Von Frankenstien was ecstatic upon recieving the news, which he had foreshadowed for many years.  He told reportes "It's just so goddamn awesome!  I can't believe that something I created could blow up to this magnitude and be voted for this prestegious honour!"  Many famous underground punk and metal bands have played at Disgraceland, including Vicious Cycle, The Ripcordz, and others.

The discovery may very well be the needed discovery to have the scientists to recieve the Nobel Prize for Everything.

The process of finding this information out was blasted by politicians, religious groups, and environmentalists who argued to the courts that the study should only prove to be their beliefs.  A PETA representative even argued "That the best place in the world to be is right here, right now."  But she was booed out of the court.

Even many local metalheads and punk rockers have been celebrating this honour"

Gab Harpelle, a local music advocate, said "First there was the study that revealed I'm better than everyone, and now this!" he then passed out from too much consumption of alcohol.  Robert Bell, another local scene punk told reporters "I want every girl to come to disgraceland and get drunk!!!!!!"

If you feel the need to find a good place to listen to live music and drink your face off for a good price, contact Micro Von Frankenstien.

Gab Officially Better Than Everyone Else

In a long legal battle fought in court forming of Gab Vs. Everyone Else over the last 19 years a victor was finally Decided. Gabriel Harpelle, commonly reffered to as Gab, and to most of his subjects "The Chosen One" His supporters have said "This is great day to worship Gab". Even some of his critics are starting to turn around. In this exclusive Baycore only interview the defence lawyer representing "Everyone Else" stated: "Hell I always knew he was better, I mean I sort of doubted for a while that litterally everyone else was inferior to him what with there being a population of 6 billion+ but after the verdict was given he proved to be much better than I could have imagined." The Lawyer was seen later that day kissing Gab's feet and showering him in rose pedals. When asked about the case, Gab was quoted to having said "Fuck Yeah I Kick Ass worship me!"
